I set up Happy Hounds after many years of working in other salons, but wanted to provide a different service for clients and their pets. The salon offers a homely environment, with all the creature comforts your pet is used to, including a settee and open crate, to make your dog as relaxed as possible whilst in a grooming environment. I also wanted to be able to offer a one to one service, so each dog has my full attention, as my top priority with setting up Happy Hounds was to make the grooming experience as enjoyable as possible for your pooch.
Happy Hounds was inspired by own little hounds, Meg, Dorothy, & Kailie, none of whom particularly enjoy the grooming experience! I wanted to create a positive environment for them, and other dogs like them, to make their time being groomed as stress-free as possible.
I offer a one to one service, which means I have dogs from only one household in the salon at a time. I also welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes, ages and behaviours, so no matter what, your dog will always be welcome!

Yes! No dog is too big or too small to groom here at Happy Hounds
Our grooms are breed specific, but a complete price list can be found on our 'Grooming & Spa' page. Don't see your dog's breed? Message us for a quote!
The duration of the groom is dependent on many factors, including the dog's size, weight, coat type and condition, as well as temperament, but on average a groom can last anywhere from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
We do have a crate located in the salon, but provide a door open policy, so your dog is free to come and go as they please. Very occasionally we may need to close your dog in the crate, but only when absolutely necessary and for a very short time.
